Real happiness goes hand in hand with contentment. In order to reduce the probability of you being depressed you have to be content with what you have. Be happy about your family, your job, your home and the things you own. In other words be grateful with what you got and appreciate it.
Life has 2 sides to it, things that are good to us and stuff that is bad.
